Old King Brady descends into the darkness alone — or almost alone. Beside him moves Young King Brady, his quick-handed protégé, still green enough to be reckless and skilled enough to be dangerous. Together they stalk their quarry through lightless passages where one false sound means death.

But the deeper Old King Brady pushes into the manor's honeycombed underworld, the more he realizes the trap closing around him is far more elaborate than he imagined. Someone on the outside is feeding the gang every move the detectives make. Someone in disguise. Someone with everything to gain from letting an old man die in the dark.
